Bunkers

WaterBrick is the 21st Century Sandbag. For frontline military applications, WaterBrick can be deployed filled with water, parts, fuel/oils, and other mission essentials, then filled with dirt/sand at the bunker site, and be configured as needed. WaterBrick comes standard in military OD color scheme; however, can be customized to any mission requirement including such colors as sand for desert applications.

It is stackable via its male and female connectors, and comes with a reinforcing rod to provide tensile strength to the wall. Preliminary results from early live fire testing against WaterBrick are illustrated further below.

Checkpoints

WaterBrick provides a unique solution to checkpoints throughout the world. Currently sandbags must be stacked upon one another haphazardly and consume greater space in order to construct the checkpoint. WaterBrick is ideal for roadside checkpoints as well as those located within high-population cities and towns, as the structure can be built quickly, cleanly, and dismantled and reassembled as needed.

Roadside Barriers

WaterBricks can be configured as roadside barriers to protect pedestrians or soldiers located near checkpoints where traffic is flowing.

For any of the above applications, including the conveyance of goods by WaterBrick, the WaterBrick can be palletized, shrink-wrapped, and air-dropped to any mission location throughout the world.

Preliminary results using a 900 gram version of the WaterBrick has shown favorable results in respect to the bullet resistance of WaterBrick. Further formalized testing will soon be forthcoming. Details of this live fire test are detailed below:

Tests against the WaterBrick were conducted at the Orange County Tactical Training Range in Orlando, FL under the supervision of one of their range officers. Each of the tests were conducted firing from the prone position with each weapon and caliber, and were shot from a distance of 25 yards. The WaterBricks were filled completely with sand and stacked as they would normally be when used as a wall or bunker. Each round was fired at the longest side of the WaterBrick. Several tests were conducted to determine if shots fired at one of the two hollow posts of the WaterBrick would affect the penetration characteristics of the tests.

Tests were conducted using the following ammunition:

The Result

The WaterBrick was successful in each of the successive tests, effectively stopping each of the rounds without penetrating the backside wall of the brick. In the case of the 7.62mm NATO 175 grain round, the round penetrated the center hollow post; however, did not exit the WaterBrick on the opposite side. In the case of the 5.56mm M855 Penetrator, the round made an indentation on the center hollow post; however, did not penetrate to reenter the WaterBrick.

Below is a cutaway rendering of how the bullets penetrated the WaterBrick, and the general results by each caliber.
