Owner's Manual
|
| A. | Volume: The volume capacity of each WaterBrick is 3.5 gallons. However, when filling these water and food storage containers, one should assume a volume loss approximately 2.67% due to the structural design requirements within. |
| B. |
Cleaning: Simply use a quarter cup of bleach with one cup of water and pour inside the WaterBrick, tighten lid; then, shake back and forth for a few minutes. When completed, thoroughly rinse out the contents and let dry. If you feel it is necessary to clean the lid and gasket, remove both and wash. However, make sure when replacing gasket that the gasket’s “flap” edge is directed outbound. |
| C. |
Filling: When filling these plastic water containers, make sure you completely dry the container, especially the “treaded” area of its neck and cap. Once completed, lay the container on a dry paper towel and let sit long enough to see if there are any leaks before stowing away. |
| D. | Water Storage: For short and long term water storage, it is recommended that you add a water preservative like ION or Water Treatment which can be bought at any preparedness stores on the internet. Read our WaterBrick Blog for more information about water storage. You can also visit the American Red Cross web site for details on how to store water properly. |
| E. |
Stacking: Although WaterBricks, when filled with content, are designed to be cross stacked up to 5 feet in height for storage purposes, we strongly recommend that the average person not exceed 4 feet in stacking height or beyond one’s own ability to handle safely.
PLEASE NOTE: WaterBrick may not be an approved building product in your area. Please check with your local building code authorities before proceeding. |
| F. |
Food Storage: If you are using WaterBrick food storage containers and are applying oxygen absorbers to deplete the air inside, make sure you first remove the gasket from inside the cap and cut a 1 inch slit in the middle of the gasket to allow the depletion of air within the container. Additional gaskets can be purchased from our website however, these gaskets are reusable. |
| G. | Ice Blocks: If you want to freeze WaterBricks, care should be used in NOT filling the WaterBrick to the very top of the container. As with any container, freezing causes expansion and could cause damage if filled completely. Therefore, when filling, your water level should be NO HIGHER than the top of the male locking lug which is just below the WaterBrick logo on the container. |
